Registration under Hallmarking

Jewellers have to register only once with BIS also, the registration of jewellers for hallmarking will be one time.

Jewellers will not be charged for Hallmarking registration.

Renewal of registration of jewellers is not required as the certificate of registration is being given with lifetime validity. The validity of the existing jeweller certificate will be extended for life.

Q1. What if a jeweller has paid the registration/renewal fee before making it free? Is there any provision for a refund of the registration/renewal fee paid?

Ans. According to BIS, if the jewellers have paid the registration fee for fresh registration or renewal before making it free, the same will not be refunded.

Q2. How to use the portal for Jewelers Registration?

Ans. (i) The jeweller first has to visit the eBIS website www.manakonline.in and select the heading ‘Hallmarking’.

(ii) After that click on the title “Jewellery Registration Scheme”.

(iii) User will be redirected to https://www.nsws.gov.in/ (National Single Window System) where he/she has to select the “Central Approvals” tab and further select the “All Approvals” tab.”

(iv) See towards the left side of the screen and select the filter “Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution”.

(v) After this select the “Registration of Jewellers for selling Hallmarked Jewellery/Artifacts ” tab.

(vi) Choose Sign Up option to generate a User ID and Password choose.

(vii) User ID will be generated and sent to the jeweller on his/her registered contact number.

(viii) Click on Apply Now

(ix) Login using the credentials received through the messageon your registered contact number and fill out the online application form.

(x) Submit the form and the registration will be approved.

(xi) Registration of Jeweller is hosted on the BIS website for a user, to fill up the application form.
